CRANIO
“Reflection”

Opening on Thursday July 1st from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Exhibition from July 1st to August 26th, 2021.

We are happy to invite you for the brand new solo exhibition of the artist CRANIO at ADDA & SARTO.
CRANIO was born in 1982 and raised in Sao Paulo. It was in 1998 that he began to cover the gray walls of his hometown. His search for a figure capable of embodying the indigenous people of Brazil leads him to develop a series of figures whose silhouette and blue color are immediately recognizable around the world.

These blue characters are propelled into quirky situations that illustrate the artist’s creaky humor while initiating reflection on contemporary issues such as consumerism, corruption or the environment.

CRANIO is a key figure in urban art. He painted walls all over the world, and produced remarkable exhibitions in Miami, Amsterdam, and even Hong Kong.

“Reflection” revolves around a two-way theme: CRANIO questions how the modern world alters the capacity for reflection of individuals. At the same time, he underlines the gap that exists between the very smooth reflection of men present on the internet, and lived reality.
He retains his original aesthetic and introduces for the first time figures that shine, lose their blue, and become a mirror that captures the environment around them.

In 2019, CRANIO inaugurated its first “Desasters” exhibition at ADDA & SARTO.
This year, the artist returns with his singular style to present a dozen paintings, drawings and a limited edition on paper. Contact us to receive the catalog of available works.
